Delete your data

You can ask us to delete the information we hold about you at any time. We confirm and complete deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
If you connected your Instagram to Dingmate
Option 1: remove our app in Instagram
- In Instagram, go to Settings and activity → Website permissions → Apps and websites. (On some versions it's under Accounts Center → Your information and permissions.)
- Find Dingmate and tap Remove.
Instagram tells us right away. We stop replying for your account and delete your Instagram access token immediately. The rest of your account data is deleted within 30 days, unless you reconnect. If you'd like everything deleted now, also email us (option 2).
Option 2: email us
Email support@dingmate.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my data". We'll delete your account, your assistant's information, your practice replies and your Instagram connection.
How Instagram's deletion requests work
We support Meta's official Deauthorization and Data Deletion Request callbacks:
- When you remove our app from Instagram, we immediately delete your Instagram access token and stop all automated replies for your account. We delete the rest of your account's data within 30 days, unless you reconnect before then.
- When Meta sends a data deletion request for you, we delete your account, your assistant's information, your practice replies and the conversations connected to your account, usually within hours. We give Meta a confirmation code and a link where you can check the status.
If you messaged or commented on an account that uses Dingmate
Messages and comments are deleted automatically after 90 days. To have them deleted sooner, email support@dingmate.com with:
- your Instagram username, and
- the Instagram account you wrote to.
We'll delete the messages, comments and replies connected to your username. We may ask you to confirm the request from your Instagram account, so nobody else can delete your conversations.
What we may keep
We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened (such as a confirmation code and date), and anything the law requires us to keep. Backups containing deleted data are overwritten within 30 days.
